As
part of the Virginia Career Readiness Certificate(CRC) initiative,
the Virginia Skills Bank was developed by the Virginia Electronic
Commerce Technology Center (VECTEC). This robust, queryable
database of WorkKeys and CRC results was produced under the
leadership of Bill Muir of VECTEC (www.vectec.org)
and with the assistance of the VCCS (gwesterman@vccs.edu),
and field users.
In
NC, Stephanie Deese used the Skills Bank as a template to
develop a database, and she is now offering the template FREE
to any state that wants to develop its own.
This
is an efficient and effective solution to data management
across regions. Each state will design its own "front
page" for the database but data will be able to flow
across state lines to assist in economic development.
